In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, we will respond to properly submitted notices of alleged copyright infringement and will remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material hosted on our grid.
Filing a Takedown Notice
If you believe that content on 3RD Rock Grid — such as a 3D model, texture, animation, script, or other creation — infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to enforce, you may submit a takedown notice using the form below. For your notice to be valid under the DMCA, it must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and enough information for us to locate it (region name and coordinates, object names, avatar names, or URLs);
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Please Note
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. Please do not submit false claims.
Upon receiving a valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and make a reasonable effort to notify the resident who posted it. That resident may respond with a counter-notification; if we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in accordance with the DMCA unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action.
It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of residents who are repeat infringers.
