3RD Rock Grid opens Gloebit Mall

3RD Rock Foundation agreed to the Communities’ request at the last community meeting and a citizen poll and has dedicated a new shopping area, named ‘Gloebit Mall’ This is to compliment the retail shopping area on Sifton Mall at Mullins. The new area is attracting the best designers on the grid such as Dawn Harbour, Donna Anna and Abigail Loon alongside some smaller retailers. We will also be opening a grid owned shop with the proceeds going towards the general server and charitable fund, which will carry the 3RG Assurance Mark of quality. We will be running both geodes- our grid currency – and gloebits alongside each other, giving our citizens’ choice and vendors the opportunity to sell in a universal currency.

We are very happy to accept people into the new mall, but they must have an excellent history of customer support and a good selection of items to sell. We are registered with the DMCA and we are very strict in enforcing and protecting creators’ content. The new mall is just filling at the moment ,and so if you have something special to sell contact me at 3RG by IM or notecard. The terms and conditions of allocation are strict, and as a showcase mall we want the best we can attract for our citizens and the wider metaverse. The shops will be rent free for a year pending a review.

Stichting ‘3RD Rock Grid Foundation’ is a not-for-profit corporation, registered in the Netherlands. Run by volunteers (http://3rdrockgrid.com/) is one of the oldest OpenSimulator grids, and has been a part of virtual reality since December 2008. Since that time, it has led the way in experimenting with the social aspects of the three dimensional Internet, focussing on education, culture, arts and entertainment.

Best known for its charitable events for MSF ‘Doctors Without Borders’,3RG raises money throughout the year and at the ‘No Borders ROBstock’ Festival

No Borders Festival 2017

3rd Rock Grid announces the ‘ No Borders Festival’ (ROBstock 10) – a weekend of music and literature in an effort to raise funds for the charity Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders (MSF) international.

In 2017 we will be Running 12 hours of live music, Art, and literature on Saturday 11th Feb and Sunday 12th February. All artists giving their time free and all tips going to charity. Last year we raised over $1000 in our 3rd hypergrid event, and were overwhelmed by the support from all grids in OpenSim.

2017 we are celebrating our 10th event for the Doctors and staff, and in honour of their dedication we are changing the name to ‘The No Borders Festival ‘ (ROBstock)

‘3RD Rock Grid Foundation and Community ‘, is a not for profit grid, run by volunteer directors .All the profit goes back into the grid. We are now able to focus wholly on providing affordable land, community participation and continuing our charitable efforts.

For more details and the running order see http://www.nobordersfestival.org

Missing My Suitcase in Firestorm

I have been asked about this a few times recently and after some searching have found the answer in a forum

How to get your My suitcase folder back
Many thanks to Brayla Sana for this information

Sometimes you cant see your “my suitcase” folder in your inventory. This is where you put items you want to take with you when you travel using Hypergrid.

If the folder is missing at the top right of the inventory window, you see a dropdown that says “All Types.” Click the arrow and select “custom” at the bottom. Click the checkbox that says “Always Show Folders.” Then you can see the Suitcase.

New features

The website will now show a Friends list and will highlight friends current online.

– You can now restart your own regions, change the physics engine, turn hypergrid on/off for their regions by logging into the website (http://3rdrockgrid.com/new/my-account/) .. clicking on the “Region Manager” which will show all regions owned by you… then click on the manage button…

Any changes made to Physics engine and/or Hypergrid requires you to restart your region.

Restarts are only allowed once every 15 minutes per region to give very large regions time to get running.
